Lovely antique watch chain with slide. Chain is 48 inches. The chain itself tests 10k or better as does the slide. I believe the clasp, the part you attach the watch to, is gold filled. It is marked and looks like BAB & Co. It's hard to read. The B.A. Ballou Co was established 1876 and I did find somewhere that they used the BAB & Co mark but the time period was unknown. In 1908 the mark became just BAB. And it seems they did make a lot of gold filled watch parts as well as chains. But this chain and slide have been tested & are 10k gold, possibly a little better. It was not uncommon to use gold filled clasps on gold chains. Total weight is 9.6 grams. Lovely long chain in beautiful condition.
